MM55 Radar Report - Big Circle TXBy
Chris Harkness for MM55productions
Big Circle TX is an exquisite melding of angelic vocals, insightful lyrics and incredibly captivating rhythms, an act that is best experienced
live. This group of masterful musicians is another in a long line of impressive outfits to emerge from the musical melting
pot of Austin Texas. Taking a fresh and unique approach to song composition and performance Big Circle TX is driving a new

MM55 Radar Report – Rum Drum Ramblers
by Chris Harkness for MM55productions
The latest addition to the MM55RadarReport is the Saint Louis Missouri
based Rum Drum Ramblers. The Americana music genre is painted with a very broad brush and this band has paint on every bristle. Drawing stylistically
from the likes of Fats Waller, sans piano, and the jazz, blues and Tin Pan Alley stylings of Leon Redbone, Rum Drum Ramblers breath new life into an era that shaped the Americana music landscape for decades to come. I love this
music and I truly appreciate it's re-introduction to a new generation of fans. (read more)

MM55 Radar Report - Don Gallardo
I recently stumbled upon an
extremely impressive Nashville singer/songwriter by the name of Don Gallardo. I have not been terribly impressed
with much coming out of Nashville lately but I have found that anyone persistent enough to muddle through the mountain
of bad rock music being sold as country can find the occasional diamond in the rough – Don Gallardo is one
of those rare gems… (read more)
Bob Livingston
shares his music and some great stories on an episode of Honky Tonk Happy Hour.
By Chris Harkness for MM55productions
I
recently had the honor of meeting and working with the legendary Texas musician, Bob Livingston as he performed on an episode
of Honky Tonk Happy Hour. His music performance was amazing and editing the interview segments down to a usable length is
a real challenge because Bob has so many great stories about his contributions to the Cosmic Cowboy era in Austin, Texas (circa
1970) and stories of fellow musicians, including Michael Martin Murphy, Gary P. Nunn, Jerry Jeff Walker and the list goes
on… (read more)

CD Review: Petesimple – Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia
Is Houston Texas the next Hotbed for a new and unique music genre?
I have developed music venues and
promoted live music in Houston, Texas for almost twenty-five years. I rode the crest of the Grunge wave at The Vatican, with bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Mudhoney. I opened the Orchid Lounge in the late 1990’s in the midst of the Swing Revival and brought bands like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Royal Crown Revue to Houston.

CD Review:
Matt Harlan – Tips and Compliments
by Chris Harkness for MM55productions
Matt Harlan’s writing style takes me back to a time when songwriters shared insightful stories of
toil and triumph. I remember spending countless youthful hours listening spellbound to great storytellers like,
Harry Chapin, Jim Croce, Kris Kristofferson, Nanci Griffith and being moved emotionally by what I was hearing. I
challenge anyone to listen to Matt Harlan and tell me they are not moved emotionally by his stories. (read more)
